I still ♥ Malaysia

Dear Dreamers,

You may notice your Malaysian friends profile pictures went black. Spare us. It’s a way to show we are in grief I suppose.

5 May 2013 was our 13th general election (GE13). The current government by Barisan National (BN) has been running the country for 55 years. After many unfavorable reports and news leaking out to the social medias, many ex-BN supporter turn to the Pakatan Rakyat (PR). And yes, the opposition voice are getting louder than ever. Honestly, many of us thought PR will win. At least before I go to bed last night, unofficial result shows that PR is leading. However, the ending is different.

This morning, I woke up seeing and feeling darkness filling my Facebook feeds, Instagram uploads and Twitter timelines. Sincerely, I am sorry.

Many shows disappointment, anger and some to the extend feel shameful and embarrassed to be Malaysian because of the result, because of the darkness in GE13.  I don’t know guys… but let’s not lost all hope and love on our country.

Do BN define us as Malaysian? They are merely the party owning the title to run our country. Technically, what matter is the people, it’s the rakyat of Malaysia, it’s us Malaysian. What makes Malaysia is not the government, or any other foreigners, it’s us Malaysian who are born and breed here.

We are Malaysia’s future, not the government.

Malaysian,
S ♥

Dear I’m so lazy to blog. Was suppose to blog about some perspective related or opinion on QiuTing and Silver’s BFF drama because i knew someone who used to be bff and turn ugly just like them but got so distracted by other things (Was busy catching up with Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, Chuck and the discovery’s anti-whaling documentary of Sea Shepherd), maybe I will talk about it again… Later… If I remember how I felt about it LoL

So, yesterday was my birthday. Another year wiser. (Yes, I refuse to say another year older) anyway, birthday dinner was different this year. Instead of the usual and boring BBQ or steamboat style or restaurant dining. We decided to do something special. Like a house party style! Went over to Big Bo’s place for home cook food. Main dish is Malaysia’s traditional Bah-kut-teh! Introducing Malaysia cuisine to my HKians 🙂 Then Big Bo cook Curry Beef, Swiss sauce chicken Wong, honey coated sausages too! It’s delicious baby. Big Bo can cook ! Damn, pretty and young mother of our friend Billy who is more like a friend of us rather than a friend’s parent 🙂
20120120-200957.jpg Finally got Cheese Cake as birthday cake! We decided to “give up” Bear Bear who don’t eat Cheese-related product and bought the cheese cake as my birthday cake (^_^) Best decision ever! Everyone enjoy the cake and all shows happy face.
20120120-214309.jpg I don’t have many friends in Hong Kong. So they are really the limited ones I felt good and happy together. We enjoy doing activities together playing board game, card game, mahjong, tennis, badminton, hiking and dining.

Last but not forgotten, the boyfriend and myself. This is the 5th birthday celebration with him by my side.

Malaysia, truly Asia

PS:

I am proud to be Malaysian.

I am very proud of the Bersih in showing their bravery and love to our country. For strong standing on what is right. For reminding everyone we are the truly Asia where cultures, races, languages live together not only peacefully but showing the ultimate harmonious and love to each other.

We are not Chinese, not Malay, not Indian, not Sandakan, not Singh, not any other races. WE ARE MALAYSIAN.

I am very proud and touch to see the truly 1malaysia under Bersih. Thanks for the reminder. Thank you !

Your colour are different from mine

Dear Blog-readers ♥

This is again an advance post. I am having weekend getaway with family. Where? Singapore. My third visit. Sister’s first. Everything would be great.

One day, as I am blog-hopping, I came across a page titled “I Would Never Be Friends With A Black Person”. It caught my attention. What a racist statement, I thought. Clicked in to read.

As a Malaysian, we learn to live with different races from very young age. Despite categorizing I am Chinese, you are Malay, he is Indian, we call ourselves Malaysian. Sure there are times we gossip and complaining about each others races characteristic and all, but never made such strong comment.

I met a few adorable black person in Melbourne. Okay. Cut it. It feels weird to label them as “black person”. They are my friends, from Kenya, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. They treat me well and care for me just like how the others do. So, lets don’t be a judgmental jerk. No race are superior. You are the one people valued, not your skin colour. Sometimes, its good to be colour blind.

With love and compassion,
S.C.
