I still ♥ Malaysia

Dear Dreamers,

You may notice your Malaysian friends profile pictures went black. Spare us. It’s a way to show we are in grief I suppose.

5 May 2013 was our 13th general election (GE13). The current government by Barisan National (BN) has been running the country for 55 years. After many unfavorable reports and news leaking out to the social medias, many ex-BN supporter turn to the Pakatan Rakyat (PR). And yes, the opposition voice are getting louder than ever. Honestly, many of us thought PR will win. At least before I go to bed last night, unofficial result shows that PR is leading. However, the ending is different.

This morning, I woke up seeing and feeling darkness filling my Facebook feeds, Instagram uploads and Twitter timelines. Sincerely, I am sorry.

Many shows disappointment, anger and some to the extend feel shameful and embarrassed to be Malaysian because of the result, because of the darkness in GE13.  I don’t know guys… but let’s not lost all hope and love on our country.

Do BN define us as Malaysian? They are merely the party owning the title to run our country. Technically, what matter is the people, it’s the rakyat of Malaysia, it’s us Malaysian. What makes Malaysia is not the government, or any other foreigners, it’s us Malaysian who are born and breed here.

We are Malaysia’s future, not the government.

Malaysian,
S ♥

Malaysia, truly Asia

PS:

I am proud to be Malaysian.

I am very proud of the Bersih in showing their bravery and love to our country. For strong standing on what is right. For reminding everyone we are the truly Asia where cultures, races, languages live together not only peacefully but showing the ultimate harmonious and love to each other.

We are not Chinese, not Malay, not Indian, not Sandakan, not Singh, not any other races. WE ARE MALAYSIAN.

I am very proud and touch to see the truly 1malaysia under Bersih. Thanks for the reminder. Thank you !

Hello June

Good day mate ! Wow, June already? Time really flies. What have I been doing for the past 5 months after graduation? Guess it’s really time to settle down and start sending out my resume/cv more aggressively. Find a job and support my living. Hopefully the savings can do it’s purpose before I got myself a salary earning activity :p

It scares me. The idea of unemployed and the possibility of employers rejecting me, putting my resume/cv in the shred-paper machine, or just shooting it in the basket. I’m new to this whole thing. Preschool, primary, highschool, college, university… It’s all about studies and being a student. I got a job back then – student. Now, graduated, I’m unemployed. What’s next? Whats waiting in the future? I know about working, marrying, labouring, growing old. But what exactly happen? How it happen? I have no idea.

Went Bangkok last weekend. A short trip there mainly for eat, pray & massage 🙂 of course, we did enjoyed some massage everyday. And the ladies do have a great time shopping in Zara. The spring collection is sweet and the sales are making us happy! Had larb moo almost everyday, Tom yum gung too! Both my favorites Thai dish. We also tried the teow chew food! I know, teow chew food in Thai? Sounds weird but it’s amazingly delicious.

Last day of May, the 31st, is my granny’s big day. Her children held a big 89th birthday party for her at Grand Imperial Hartamas branch. She had a good time. We all do. It’s a blessing to have live and see your children, your grandchildren and your great grandchildren. Granny is happy. We all are. So many relatives from my mom’s I never met! Granny couldn’t remember them all though. She has the memory of fishes, which stays for 3mins. Sometimes she forgets me, but when she remembers, she always ask when am I getting married. I like to tease her, asking her to wait for another 7 years maybe… Her reaction entertains me.

There go my May 2011. Well, again, hello June! Be nice 🙂

Under the sea

Good day lovelies 🙂 I’m back from Pulau Perhentian, Kelantan. Spent 5D4N at Shari – La Island Resort with The Quiver Dive Team. Oh, and yes, me is now certified open water and advance open water diver! I’m very proud of myself to have qualified for 2 licence in 4 days. Of course it’s not mission impossible (I did it) but it ain’t easy too! It’s stress and tiring.

On fast boat with keeper. Excited for the trip!

Arrived with a happy heart, big smile and energetic spirit! Spot the four of us – me, yun, louis & zoe 🙂

I stayed at Coral Bay most of the time, but Long Beach is seriously more pretty :p sands are smoother (less rocks and shells) and it’s really a better place to snorkel.

I know I don’t look anywhere close to being good in this pic.. But this is the only picture I have with my instructor aka sifu – Vikki Reid. She’s from England. Strict on land but real fun under the sea 🙂

My other sifu – Small John, trained me well for night dive, 40minutes under 2.5metre. I think I improved a lot on controlling my buoyancy under that shallow depth.

Believe it or not, I love the feeling under the sea 🙂 it’s amazing! I was so excited swimming with the fishes, looking at them, spotting and identifying the livings of this mysterious world. It’s a whole new world to explore. Now Keeper is a Licensed EFR and Rescue Diver, my parents feels safer for me to dive with him. Hence… Definitely more diving trips.

Signing off, Sylvia.

Review: Soon Soon Pan Mee & Fish Head

I love Pan Mee. However, I only eat dry Pan Mee. Picky, yes that’s my nickname. Ha 🙂 Anyway, dad brought me to Soon Soon the other day. Everything they served became my favourite! And ever since, we went at least twice a week.

Soon Soon Pan Mee & Fish Head is located at Damansara Perdana. They deliver good food such as Fu Zhou fish balls, Yee Wat, Pan Mee and Fish Head Mee Hoon.

This is M3: Fried egg with bitter melon and Fu Zhou fishballs served with mee hoon. Honestly, this is my second favourite! It’s delicious. Every flavour blend together and all essence are in the soup. Hence, I always clear the bowl without leaving a drop in it.

This is dad’s favourite F1: Fish Head Mee Hoon. I am not a big fan of fish head. It’s too complicated 😀 You can choose whether to mix with milk or not. The soup is slightly sour and salty because of the preserved veggie and tomatoes. However, it is so good I could finish every drops of it.

This is M1: Bitter melon and Yee Wat with Mee Hoon. Clear soup. Simple dish but with high satisfaction. It taste so good and suitable for everyone wanting a light meal.

Here come my all time no.1 favourite!! p2: Dry Pan Mee (Thick Noodle). This is way different than those I’ve ever tasted in other cafe. The soy sauce and dark sauce usage are just right. Not salty at all. Minced pork absorb the taste of sauces and blend with the noodle.
Menu is hanging right on the wall. And don’t worry, your orders look exactly like the picture.
